Flexure mechanisms make use of the elastic properties of its material to enable (limited) movement in some desired direction(s) and fix movement in the other directions. The dimensions of the elastic element(s) need to ensure the appropriate stiffness in the different directions. A coil spring is a well known example of a flexure.

This short article shows 3D CAD models of some flexure mechanisms. The CAD models are mostly made using FreeCAD.
